CHIKKAMAGALUR: With the case related to the alleged MUDA site scam involving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife scheduled to come up in court, a relative of the CM is believed to have offered special prayers at the popular Rishyashringeshwara temple at Kigga in Sringeri taluk.
The relative, Chandrashekar, hailing from Tumakuru, arrived at Kigga on Sunday afternoon and offered prayers on Monday. He is said to have performed ‘Shatarudrabhisheka’ at the temple and left the same day. The ‘Shatarudrabhisheka’ is usually performed for fulfilment of one’s desires.
Lord Rishyashringeshwara at Kigga is known as the god of rain and the government has also conducted special pujas in times of heavy rain or drought. The Rishyashringeshwara temple is among the most visited ones by Deputy CM D K Shivakumar and he has also donated a silver mask to the deity.
