BALLARI: A woman has filed a complaint alleging threat to life against Siruguppa former BJP MLA Somalingappa and his two sons. An FIR has been registered at Siruguppa police station against three people including former MLA Somalingappa and his sons Venkatappa and Siddappa.
The woman, N Manjula, approached the police superintendent seeking protection from the former MLA and his sons. “The three people came with goondas while working in my farm and issued life threat. The former MLA and his children are conspiring to grab my three acres of land. They are harassing me and plotting to grab the property. They have also issued murder threat to me and my family members. Somalingappa is threatening to snatch the land from me due to political influence”, she said in her complaint.
Reacting to the complaint, Somalingappa said, “We have not issued life threat to anyone. There are CCTV cameras and mobile tower location at incident spot can be got. A false case has been filed against me and my sons and the allegation being made by Manjula is far from truth”
He further said, “I have not issued life threat to anyone, let complete investigation happen. In 2010, we purchased 75 cents of land through GPA holder Manjula and she herself has got sale deed done in my son M S Venkatappa’s name. After getting the registration done we are in possession of the land. There are signatures of Manjula herself and sale deeds. Let complete investigation happen regarding case, we will also cooperate. It is true that there is dispute between Manjula and us regarding the property issue, but we have not issued any life threat. Character assassination is being done against me with political motive and I will file defamation suit, I will fight legally for justice”.
