BELAGAVI: The family of contractor Santosh Patil, who had committed suicide after making allegations of corruption, leading to the resignation of then RDPR Minister K S Eshwarappa, has now written a letter to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot seeking a transparent probe into the case.

Santosh’s wife Renuka, who has written the letter, has expressed doubts about his suicide and alleged that the investigation is going on the directions of the accused former minister himself.

Quoting from Eshwarappa’s statement, she said he had claimed that he will come out clean in 15 days. He is a former Deputy CM, former minister, former BJP state president and an influential MLA. There are doubts that he may use money and political power to influence the outcome of the probe, she claimed.

Renuka further went on to say that the police have been lax in the investigation to benefit Eshwarappa and close the case. Hence, he had claimed that he would come out unscathed. Going by his statements, it appears that the investigation is proceeding as per his directions. Hence, a transparent investigation is necessary, she sad.
