Day after car was traced, BJP leader Yogeshwar’s brother-in-law found murdered

Mahadevaiah was kidnapped in his own car and it was later abandoned at Ramapura in Hanur taluk.

RAMANAGARA: Days after real estate businessman Mahadevaiah, who is the brother-in-law of BJP leader C P Yogeshwar, was reported kidnapped from his farmhouse near Channapatna, he was found murdered. The police recovered his body from a gorge on Nala Road near Ramapura in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district.

On Tuesday, the body was brought back to the farm house near Vaddaradoddi where the last rites were performed. Meanwhile, the police have intensified their investigation after CCTV footage revealed three persons walking suspicously near the place where Mahadevaiah’s car was found in Ramapura.

The police suspect that the three men entered the farm house on the night of December 1 based on information that he was alone. They forced him to open the lockers and took away property documents and cash and kidnapped him in own Maruti Brezza SUV.

On the way, they stopped at Kollegal and partied at a dabha in Kollegal and bought bottles of water from a shop on the same road. They then murdered Mahadevaiah and dumped his body in a gorge amidst a forested area on Nala Road near Ramapura, it is suspected.

The trio was captured on CCTV camera walking together in Ramapura around 5.10 am holding a torch. While one of them is wearing a dothi, the other two are in trousers.
