Cyber crime police raid Kolar chemists for selling intoxicating drugs

KOLAR: The cyber crime police conducted raids on medical stores for allegedly selling medicines illegally and without doctor’s prescription.

The police raided Sri Nanjundeshwar medical store and Sri Srikar medical store near the new bus stand in Kolar city. It is said that scheduled drugs were being sold to the youth without the doctor’s permission or any note written by the doctor. The medical stores were found to be selling Sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine tablet, which give a high, at double the actual price.

The cyber crime police initially arrested some of the youths who were intoxicated and then started looking for the source of the intoxication. The police were shocked after seeing the network of youths who were taking intoxicating drugs. The investigation has been carried out under the leadership of cyber crime inspector Jagadish.
