Customs officials seize Rs 67 lakh worth of gold from 3 passengers at KIA

BENGALURU: Customs officials at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) have recovered 1.13 kg of gold worth Rs 67 lakh in three separate cases.

The gold paste was under the lining cloth.

An Indian national woman passenger, arriving from Kaula Lampur, had hidden about 300 gm of gold paste in the reverse side of her blouse under the inner lining cloth.

A male passenger arriving from Kuwait had small pieces of gold, weighing about 250 gm and valued at Rs 15 lakh, hidden in a box of dry fruits. The officials also seized an iPhone along with the gold.

In the third case, an Indian national woman arriving from Malaysia was caught with 578 gm of gold worth Rs 34 lakh.
