CHIKKABALLAPUR: A couple travelling on a scooter died on the spot after a car hit them from behind near Kattihosahalli Gate in Doddaballapur taluk of Bengaluru Rural district on Wednesday.
Lakshmaiah (55) and Anita (45) of Kattihosahalli village, who were riding a Honda Activa, had observed Pitru Paksha at home on Tuesday night and had gone to a relative’s house and participated in Harikathe programme.
While returning home on the two-wheeler after finishing the programme, a speeding car that came from behind hit the scooter near Kugenahalli Gate. Due to intensity of collision, the couple were seriously injured and died. The Doddabelavangala police visited the spot and have taken up further investigation after registering a case.
