BENGALURU: After the controversy over alleged irregularities in the appointment of veterinary officers, more scams are being unearthed in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), which has become a hub of corruption. Now, there are allegations of irregularities even in the Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) recruitments and a complaint filed at the Vidhana Soudha police station.
The complaint names 384 candidates who allegedly paid bribes to land KAS posts. The complainant Kanta Kumar even alleged that one candidate was in contact with a KPSC member. The police have taken up the complaint for preliminary inquiry.
Speaking about the irregularities in KPSC regarding the KAS recruitments, Kanta Kumar said, “KAS is a huge money game and there are demands of Rs 1.5 crore for 25 marks”. He alleged that Rs 1.5 crore was given to a KPSC member for 25 marks in the interview. “The call detail records (CDR) has been obtained as supporting evidence and shows how many times the candidate and the member spoke. How does a member talk with interview candidates?” he questioned.
Kanta Kumar added that the interview was held two months ago in May. “There were four people on the interview panel and one of the members allegedly demanded crores of rupees”, he pointed out.
