HAVERI: The Vidhana Soudha police in Bengaluru, who are investigating the case where pro-Pakistan slogans were raised during the victory celebration of Congress Rajya Sabha MP-elect Syed Naseer Hussain, have picked up one of his supporters for questioning on Wednesday.

The police picked up Mohammed Shafi Nashipudi, a trader in Byadagi chilli, from his cold storage facility near Motebennur in Byadagi taluk. Shafi has been taken to Bengaluru for voice tests.

Shafi was picked up after BJP leaders in Byadagi alleged that it was he who raised pro-Pakistan slogans. However, Shafi has claimed that he said, ‘Naseer sab zindabad’. He even swore that he had not raised anti-national slogans.
