Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni visits Dharwad after five years

DHARWAD: Congress MLA from Dharwad Rural constituency, Vinay Kulkarni, who was jailed in the Dharwad ZP member Yogesh Gowda murder case, on Friday entered Dharwad district after five years.

Vinay Kulkarni, who came directly to Dharwad’s famous Murugha Math after having darshan of Savadatti Renuka Yellamma in Belagavi district, was welcomed by his supporters and Congress workers. He was accompanied by his wife Shivaleela Kulkarni and children Vaishali, Deepali and Hemanth when he offered prayers at the gadduge of Murughendra Mahashivayogi and Mrutyunjayappa.

As the court had imposed a condition on Vinay Kulkarni not to raise any victory slogans and not to take out a procession, his supporters welcomed him at Murugha Math without pomp. Later, supporters welcomed Vinay when he arrived at his house without any pomp.

Since Vinay came to Dharwad on the day of Raksha Bandhan, many tied rakhi to Vinay. It was special that Congress workers and Vinay’s supporters welcomed Vinay without raising any slogans due to court order. Speaking on the occasion, MLA Vinay thanked the workers and supporters. As soon as he came home, family members welcomed him with arati and warding off evil eye by smashing ash gourd and white pumpkin. “Today I am really happy to have come to the district.People of the district have cooperated with my family and many workers have supported us. I got opportunity to work for the constituency and I will do that work. I will not talk much today”.
