BENGALURU: Lawmakers from the state are gearing up for foreign trips amidst the power-sharing conundrum. A group of 33 legislators is set to embark on an Africa tour in the third week of February, with two teams departing separately. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has given the green signal for the trip, with instructions to return by March 1.

A team led by Minister K. Venkatesh is scheduled to visit Australia and New Zealand from February 16 to March 3 for an animal husbandry study tour. Over 15 legislators are expected to participate in these foreign trips.

The timing has raised eyebrows, with speculation that the trips might be aimed at delaying the power-sharing issue until the budget is finalised.
