Mandya doctor allegedly involved in 900 foeticides case found dead in car

MADIKERI: A doctor working on contract basis at the Konsur government hospital in Mysuru district was found dead in his car in suspicious circumstances. The car was foudn parked by the roadside on the Anekadu National Highway in Kushalanagar taluk of Kodagu. It is said that he committed suicide by injecting himself with poison.

The deceased has been identified as Dr Satish (47). He was a resident of Shivalli near Pandavapur in Mandya district. His name had cropped up in the case of 900 foeticides, which the police busted a big racket recently. It is said that the arrested accused mentioned Dr Satish’s name during interrogation. The doctor was also absconding ever since the accused revealed that he was allegedly involved in the foeticide case.

Following the infanticide case and gender detection cases, the state government has now handed over the prove to the CID. It is suspected that Dr Satish took such the extreme step out of fear of arrest in the case. He parked his car on the roadside near Anekad and committed suicide by injecting himself with poison.

Following the incident, the Kushalanagar Rural police and the staff of the forensic science laboratory visited the spot and sent the body to the government hospital of Kushalanagar for the post-mortem. Question are now being raised about his possible involvement in the foeticides in Mandya.
