What are the commission’s recommendations given in a proposal?

  • All the tuition centres in the state should be required to register with the Education Department.
  • A tuition centre should have all basic facilities.
  • Information about the fee for the tutorials should be given.
  • The safety of the children should be prioritised.
  • CCTV cameras in the tuition centres should be mandatory.
  • Mandatory inspection of the tuition centre owner by the police department.

The Education Department does not have information about the number of tuition centres in the state. The child rights commission has submitted the proposal, listing guidelines, to prevent any such incidents.

Naganna Gowda, president of KSCPCR.

“We have to think about the safety of our children when they go to tuition centres. Earlier, many incidents occurred in tuition centres. Many tuition centres in the city have not even registered with the respective department. Tuition centres should have all the basic facilities, including safety measures. We have sent a proposal regarding this to the government. We have prioritised children’s safety”, said Naganna Gowda, president of KSCPCR.
