Celebrities call for lighting lamps at home on Jan 22 to commemorate Ram idol installation

BENGALURU: The whole world is waiting for the historic consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. Tourists and devotees are expected not only different states, but also from foreign countries.  To mark the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to people not to crowd Ayodhya for the event and to illuminate their houses with diyas on January 22 so that the whole country basks in glory.

Earlier, Modi gave a call that a big cleanliness campaign should be conducted at pilgrimage places across the country from January 14, one week before the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol at Ram Mandir. He emphasized that Lord Ram belongs to the entire nation and asked that there should be no litter around any temples or pilgrimage sites.

Karnataka too is gearing up to celebrate the ‘Pran Prathishtana’ day of Lord Ram as a festival. In fact, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other Hindu leaders are distributing holy manthrakshate from Ayodhya.

Some senior actors of Sandalwood and television celebrities including Thara Anuradha, Malavika Avinash, Vedamurthy, Archana Udupa, Rishi, Srinath Vasishta, Amruth Yadav and Ravi Bhat have also requested people to celebrate Ramotsava on January 22 by lighting lamps in their houses.
