BENGALURU: A chartered accountant was duped of Rs 6 lakh by an online fraudster while he was trying to sell his kidney to take care of his parents.
The victim Srinivas has elderly parents and had had taken loans to maintain his family and also used up his credit card limit. He had planned to sell a kidney to take good care of his parents and repay his loans. Accordingly, he searched for kidney sales on Google.
Srinivas noticed on a private website that a person needed a kidney urgently. The person made Srinivas believe that he would pay Rs 2 crore for one kidney. The fraudster told him it would require Rs 6 lakh for a health checkup and a blood group test and asked him to first arrange for the money.
Srinivas transferred the money without further doubt, but was unable to contact the fraudsters later on. He then lodged at complaint at the CEN police station.
