RAMANAGARA: A bus driver was beaten mercilessly for questioning discrimination in the assignment of drivers to bus routes at the Kanakapura KSRTC bus depot on Friday night. A video of bus driver Shivakumar being assaulted at will has gone viral on social media.
Allegations have surfaced that Kanakapura KSRTC depot manager Sachin himself got the assault carried out. Driver Shivakumar had questioned the discrimination in the assignment of drivers different bus routes at the Kanakapura depot, and had also written a letter to the KSRTC Chief Traffic Manager about this.
As Shivakumar had complained against him, depot manager Sachin allegedly instigated three to four drivers and conductors to beat driver Shivakumar mercilessly. A colleague captured on mobile phone the assault on the driver by three to four people inside the bus depot.
Shivakumar has filed a complaint at the Kanakapura Town Police Station against depot manager Sachin, and also Kumar, Harish, Devaraju and Shivamurthy.
