Boiler tank falls off truck on to road near KR Pet, traffic hit for some time

MANDYA: A massive lorry carrying a boiler tank grazed against a roadside tree and a huge boiler it was carrying fell on to the road on Monday morning. The incident occurred on the Mysuru-Channarayapatna State Highway near Murukanahalli in K R Pet taluk, Mandya district.

The boiler tank was being transported from Rajasthan to the Nanjangud Industrial Area. As the lorry was approaching Murukanahalli, the boiler tank on it hit a tree on the roadside and rolled across the highway. Due to the accident, traffic on the Mysuru-Channarayapatna State Highway was completely halted for some time.

Since it was early morning, people heading to offices, the public, and other vehicle users had a hard time commuting and locals tried to travel via alternative routes. Upon receiving information, the K R Pet Rural police rushed to the spot and, with the help of locals, cleared the boiler tank from the road and facilitated smooth traffic.
