BENGALURU: The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has formed a committee and launched an investigation into allegations of corruption against some BMTC officials who are said to have been involved in irregularities in the purchase of materials.
It is alleged that some BMTC staffers have colluded with contractors and committed irregularities in purchase of masking tape and Rs 71,500 was transferred to a personal account from a private company. The BMTC has already suspended R M Bantanoorakar, the assistant stores officer of the Central Stores-1 and further inquiry is under way.
