BENGALURU: A man was killed and three people were injured when a BMTC bus ploughed into motorists waiting at a traffic signal near Bharatiya City cross on the Nagawara-Yelahanka road around 7.30 pm on Friday. The bus also hit some cars and two-wheelers in the process.

The victim’s scooter stuck under the bus, which had climbed on to the road divider.

The deceased was identified as Ayub Khan (33) while the injured are Rafiullah Khan, Musaddiq and Munawar. The injured were admitted to a private hospital.

The bus was going from Bellalli toward R K Hegde Nagar when its brakes failed near Orion Uptown Mall, according to the driver. The Chikkajala traffic police have registered a case and have arrested the bus driver.
