UDUPI: Amid rumours and allegations about the Parashurama statue in the theme park built on Bailur Umikal hill in Karkala taluk, being made of fibre, the BJP has released a fact-checking video to prove that it is indeed made of bronze.

The Congress has alleged that the 33-foot-tall statue was not made of bronze, but from fibre. The Congress members have been constantly alleging that the statue has been built from fibre and released a video about it earlier.

Following the Congress protest and allegation, the BJP members of Karkala constituency have now released a video to prove that it is a bronze statue. At least 15 to 20 BJP workers examined the remaining remaining part of the statue by hitting it with a hammer to prove that it is made of bronze.

The BJP workers also openly inviting the public to check the material used for the construction of the statue. The party members hit out at the Congress saying that it was doing dirty politics over the statue issue. “Congress members are doing such things to get likes and comments on their social media pages. Pieces of fibre have been used to cover the spots where welding has been carried out”, one of the BJP members explained.

The Congress workers had been alleging that the people had been cheated by MLA V Sunil Kumar and that he lied to them by installing a partial fibre statue instead of the bronze statue. Presently, the Parashurama statue has been partly dismantled to complete work on it.

Congress MLC Manjunath Bhandari visited the theme park on Thursday along with some local office-bearers of the party. The Congress members found many pieces of fibre around the theme park and alleged that there is a multi-crore scam in the installation of the Parashurama statue.
