Bengaluru traffic police conduct drunk driving checks near schools

BENGALURU: The city traffic police on Monday morning conducted checks for drunk driving among school bus drivers. This follows complaints that drunk driving could lead to accidents involving school buses.

The special drive was taken up across Bengaluru and traffic police officers and personnel were present in front of all schools. The drive was taken up in the interest of the safety of schoolchildren.

Different types of vehicles like autorickshaws, vans and mini buses ferry children to and from schools every day. The drivers of all such vehicles were subjected to alcometer tests in front of schools by the traffic police.
