The DCP said, “We have questioned the individual. He had complained a few years ago that he had been attacked after which he procured the licenced firearm. He had got exemption from depositing the fiream at the jurisdictional police station citing a threat to his life. We have taken him into custody and are looking into the security breach”.

Reacting to the issue, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar denied that there was any security breach. “People keep weapons for their own safety. I too have gunmen with me. The Opposition parties should talk only if they have some genuine issue.
