BENGALURU: To speed up the drive to remove abandoned vehicles from the roads, Bengaluru In-charge Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has instructed officials to clear 40 vehicles per day across the five city corporation limits. Currently, the removal drive of abandoned vehicles in the city is progressing at a slow pace.
Out of more than 6,000 abandoned vehicles that have been identified, only 250 vehicles have been cleared so far. The project, which was announced on July 10, has not seen much success so far. Now, a target has been set to clear this many vehicles per day. Therefore, the abandoned vehicle removal drive will have to be carried out as per the target of 40 vehicles, given by Bengaluru In-charge Minister Krishna Byre Gowda.
“The drive slowed down due to police personnel being deployed for security and VIP movement duties, according to the officials. Despite this, 263 vehicles have been towed away. I have told them to clear a minimum of 40 vehicles every day and they have agree to it”, Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said.
