BENGALURU: Over the last couple of months, potholes on the city roads have been a hot topic of discussion. Despite several promises and deadlines, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has yet again failed to meet its target of to fill all potholes in the city by the New Year.

A reality check by Public TV has busted the BBMP officers’ claims of pothole-free roads. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has dug up Tindlu Main Road in Byatarayanapura constituency for sanitary pipeline work and the unscientific road work is causing traffic jams daily. The locals have complained about this to the authorities, but none of them have bothered to clear the mess.

A school bus got stuck in slush on the Tindlu road connecting the GKVK rear gate and was rescued by a tractor.

In Yeshwantpur Industrial Suburb and on Mysuru Road, commuters have to suffer as entire stretches are riddled with potholes.

Manish, a resident of Tindlu.

“It’s been a month since the road work began. The situation has worsened since last Wednesday, and none of the officials bother to check the situation of the roads. They close the road for some days and when they reopen, vehicles get stuck in slush and potholes. Every day, vehicles gets stuck and it is difficult to commute through the Tindlu road. We urge officials to look into this issue”, said Manish, a local resident.
