BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is planning various measures to enhance the beauty of the city and attract visitors. Among them is a proposal to construct the country’s tallest skydeck in the city.
Taking the proposal ahead, the civic body has now called for tenders seeking a Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the proposed skydeck project. Once completed, the skydeck will offer a 36-degree view of the entire city from a height of 250 metres.
The Palike has given a deadline of 60 days to submit a feasibility and detailed design report, as well as the total cost of the project. Consultancy firms or companies cam participate in the tender within 30 days and submit a report within the next 30 days. After that, the BBMP will submit the design report to the government.
This skydeck is likely to come up in the New Government Electrical Factory (NCGF) area near Yeshwantpur or at Baiyapanahalli. The BBMP held several meetings with private companies in this regard and if the project materialises, the garden city will have a 250-metre-tall skydeck which will be an added tourist attraction.
The skydeck project has the potential to become a centre of attraction and enhance commercial activity. Apart from the skydeck, there will be space for many stores including a shopping mall, restaurant, cinema halls and a museum, on this skydeck. Also, it would be one of the milestones in the history of the development of the city as it is being planned to be the country’s tallest skydeck.
