BBMP bans slaughter and sale of meat on Mahavir Jayanti

BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has ordered a ban on the slaughter and sale of meat on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti on April 4,

According to a circular issued by the BBMP Joint Director of Animal Husbandry on Sunday, meat will not be sold in slaughter houses and sales outlets under the jurisdiction of the civic body.

On the Ram Navami celebration also sale of sheep, chicken, fish and meat was banned in BBMP limits. A similar order was issued in various municipal councils including Kalaburgi, Chikkamagaluru and Chamarajanagar districts.
