Basava Express train targeted by stone pelters

KALABURAGI: After Vande Bharat trains, now express trains are being targeted by stone pelters. On Wednesday evening, the Basava Express, running between Bagalkot and Mysuru, was targeted near Babalawadi village in Kalaburagi taluk.

The A1 AC coach of the train was targeted by stone pelters, shattering the window glass. Some passengers were also injured in the stone throwing. The locomotive was also pelted with stones, according to some of the passengers.

The stone throwing incident was brought to the attention of the railway authorities at Wadi railway station and the railway police have registered a case. The train runs through Kalaburagi, Wadi and Yadgir.
