BENGALURU: The Bajrang Dal has called for stop to New Year celebrations stating the youths are being misled by Western culture.

In a letter to City Police Commissioner Pratap Reddy, Bajrang Dal convener Govardhan said youths are falling prey to intoxicants and narcotic substances in the name of New Year celebrations. Youths are turning into anti-social elements, he pointed out, and urged the police to put a stop to all such activities.

He said women are allowed free entry into pubs where they are given synthetic drugs and other narcotics to get the addicted and alleged that this is a conspiracy. Loud music and firecrackers are used during the celebrations which cause pollution. Hence, such activities should be stopped, he noted.
