BENGALURU: An autorickshaw driver was stabbed over the issue of drinking water near the Timber Yard in Byatarayanapura limits on Sunday night.
During dinner time on Sunday night, goods vehicle driver Mahadev drank the water that the auto driver had brought. Seeing tempo driver Mahadev drink the water, the auto driver questioned him. “I bought this water with my money, why did you drink it without asking me?” he asked. This led to a verbal argument and quarrel between the two.
After the fight, Mahadev called his son to attack the auto driver. Mahadev’s son and a friend came and tried to attack the auto driver and stabbed him with a knife. The accused stabbed him and fled from the spot.
Locals called 112 and informed the police. With the help of police, the auto driver was immediately shifted to hospital where he is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. A case has been registered at Byatarayanapura police station and further investigation is under way.
Bakery owner assaulted, shop ransacked for refusing credit
A bakery owner was beaten up for refusing to give items on credit at RT Nagar, on Sunday evening.
Two people came to the bakery and asked for some items on credit. But the bakery owner’s wife Preethi said they already owed Rs 1,500. She said if they paid the dues, they can take items on credit again.
At that point, an argument broke out between the bakery staff and the duo. During this, bakery owner Chandrashekhar was beaten up badly. Not only that, they also created a ruckus by throwing all the bakery items around. A case has been registered at RT Nagar police station and further investigation is under way.
