BENGALURU: A young woman, who had come to the city for admission into a medical course, was pleasantly surprised after the handbag she had left behind in an autorickshaw was returned to her by the driver through Public TV.
Ankita Agarwal, who hails from Odisha, had come to Bengaluru to get admission into the Sri Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, located at T Begur after her MBBS course. She hired an auto from Mariyappapalya and got off at Modi Hospital, but she forgot her bag which had important documents in it.
When the auto driver noticed the bag in the passenger seat, he immediately brought it over to the Public TV office in the city. The bag contained important documents such as driving licence, Aadhaar card, ATM card, cash and documents related to medical education.
Then, a Public TV reporter called Ankitha on her phone and shared the address of media house. She immediately rushed to the Public TV office and collected her belongings. Ankita also thanked the honest autorickshaw driver and Public TV for returning her records safely.
Driver Ramesh said, “I dropped the passenger near Kadamba hotel, but I did not notice their bag left in the passenger’s seat in the beginning. When I saw it later, I waited at where I had dropped them off for two hours, but no one came. So, I came straight to the Public TV office to hand over the bag for safety reasons. It is our responsibility to return others’ properties. Our hard-earned money is only what matters”.
