HAVERI: At least 30 people fell sick after having lunch at the house-warming ceremony of one Shekhappa at Thimmenahalli in Ranebennur. The guests suddenly developed fever and vomiting.
The sick were immediately admitted to the Ranebennur government hospital. Some recovered while some others were still not stable and the treatment was being continued.
The cause of the incident is not yet known. Officials suspected that something may have fallen into the food while it was being prepared. The authorities concerned have questioned the family members in this regard.
