Armed robbers make away with Rs 9 lakh worth of gold from motorists on Bengaluru-Mysuru highway

RAMANAGARA: After a lull, highway robbers are striking again on the 10-lane Bengaluru-Mysuru highway. In an incident which occurred two days ago, two men lost 166 gm of gold ornaments, valued at Rs 9.13 lakh, to an armed duo.

Hemachala and Ankaiah were travelling in their car from Channapatna to Bengaluru and stopped near the overbridge at Mayaganahalli as they were feeling drowsy. They got off the car to freshen up when two men, who came on a motorcycle, flashed a sword and and took away their gold ornaments.

The Ramanagara Rural police have registered a case and have launched a manhunt for the robbers.
