Ambulance collides with container truck, patient dies

BENGALURU: A patient died after the ambulance he was being transported in collided with a container truck near Bommanahalli in Nelamangala taluk in the wee hours on Tuesday. The ambulance was carrying the patient from a Chitradurga hospital to a Bengaluru hospital.

The deceased was identified as Vijay Kumar, who was suffering from cancer. The ambulance collided with a speeding container on the Tumakur-Bengaluru National Highway. As a result, Vijay Kumar suffered severe head injuries and died due to excessive bleeding while being to a hospital. Three people, including the ambulance driver, were injured in the incident.

The exact cause of the accident is not yet known, but excessive speeding is suspected. The injured in the accident have been admitted to a hospital and are being treated. A case has been registered at the Nelamangala Traffic police station in this regard, and the police visited the accident spot.
