SHIVAMOGGA: A BJP worker has been accused of attempting to vote for the party on behalf of an aged woman, at the Avinahalli polling station in Sagar taluk on Wednesday.
When the woman went into the polling booth to cast her vote, a BJP worker stopped a relative of the woman, accompanied her to the booth and allegedly tried to force her to vote for the BJP.
“He tried to force me to vote for the BJP and pointed to the button, but I told him I know whom to vote for”, the woman told reporters outside.
Relatives of the woman vented ire and said they have lodged a complaint with the election officials.
