Aged man brutally attacked by 2 youths for objecting to reckless riding on highway

MANDYA: A 60-year-old resident of Tubinakere was brutally attacked by two youths with a sharp weapon for advising them to ride their motorcycle carefully.

The youths rained blows on Shankare Gowda for telling them to ride carefully.

The youths were allegedly riding in a zig-zag fashion on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway near Yeliyur. Shankare Gowda advised the youths that riding recklessly could prove dangerous to other road users. To this, the youths retorted saying that Gowda should mind his own business.

When he pressed on and said that the lives of other motorists could be at stake, the youths rained blows on him, punched and kicked him and also slashed him with a sword. They then fled the scene.

A seriously injured Shankare Gowda was rushed to Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences by other villagers. A case has been registered at Mandya Rural police station.
