After Gujarat, BJP hopes roadshows by Modi will work for it in Karnataka too

BENGALURU: After the massive turnout at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Hubballi on Thursday, the party now gearing up to hold more roadshows in the state in the run-up to the Assembly election to create a buzz, similar to the strategy the BJP had adopted ahead of the Gujarat polls.

The party attributes its landslide win in Gujarat partly to the Prime Minister’s humongous roadshows in Surat and Ahmedabad. In Surat, Modi covered 25 km covering 16 constituencies while in Ahmedabad, he covered 50 km in four hours. The BJP created history by winning all the 16 seats in Surat and 19 of the 21 seats in Ahmedabad.

The central leadership plans to adopt the same strategy in Karnataka and has instructed the state leadership to make necessary arrangements whenever the PM visits here. With Modi scheduled to visit the state again on January 19, the state leaders are working out whether a roadshow can be organised in Yadgir and Kalaburagi cities.
