BENGALURU: Bengaluru’s 100-year-old Russell Market has its own history. However, the heritage building was damaged in a recent fire incident. Now, efforts are being made to restore the market to its original form.
The walls, gates and floor inside Russell Market were all damaged in the fire incident. A sum of Rs 40 crore has been allocated to renovate and modernise the market.
The plan includes retiling the interior, repairing damaged walls, and fixing the leaking roof. Work is expected to begin by the end of this year. In total, Rs 50 crore has been allocated for the renovation of Russell Market.
