TUMAKURU: Three shops were gutted in an accidental fire which broke out at Ashok Nagar on BH Road in front of the university here early on Monday. A mobile shop was completely gutted in the incident.
The fire first broke out in the mobile shop and then spread to a vegetable store and a sweet stall which are adjacent to it. The Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and put out the blaze. Luckily, there was no casualty.
The loss is estimated at Rs 8 lakh and mobile phones of various brands were burnt in the fire. The incident occurred under New Extension police station limits.
