FIR registered against national award-winning film producer in cheating case

BENGALURU: A case has been registered against Arun Rai, a national award-winning film producer, at the RMC Yard police station for allegedly cheating an entrepreneur of Rs 60 lakh.

The entrepreneur, who is from Bantwal, has claimed that he met Arun Rai at the Taj Hotel in Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru. Arun Rai had introduced himself as the producer of the film ‘Veera Kambala’ and it has been alleged that he cheated the businessman by promising him to share Rs 60 lakh in profit.

In this context, a case has been registered against Arun Rai. The RMC Yard police are investigating the case. Arun Rai is known for producing the Tulu film ‘Jitige’, ‘as well as the film ‘Veera Kambala’.
