SHIVAMOGGA: A notorious rowdy was hacked to death in broad daylight on a main thoroughfare in the city on Thursday. Shocked onlookers ran helter-skelter even as the attackers rained blows on the rowdy with deadly weapons near the Vinoba Nagar police station.
‘Handi’ Anni (40) was facting several cases of murder and dacoity. The attackers, who came in a Toyota Innova MUV, chose a desolate place near a police outpost to carry out the murder. Anni sustained serious injury on the head and other parts of the body.
Additional SP Vikram visited the spot. The body was taken to McGann Hospital for autopsy before it was handed to the family.
