KOLAR: An anganwadi assistant at Bhuvanahalli village in Bangarpet taluk was sent on compulsory leave after it was found that she had fed nutritious, fortified food, meant for children and pregnant women, to cattle as they had passed the expiry date.
Several packets of fortified food products had gone waste and, upon coming to know about the issue, the Bangarpet CDPO Muniraju visited the anganwadi centre. When questioned about it, the anganwadi assistant reportedly said that excess quantity had been supplied.
Not satisfied with her explanation, the CDPO recommended that the anganwadi assistant be sent on compulsory leave.
