Son dies, father injured severely in country-made bomb blast in Hoskote

BENGALURU: A 18-year-old boy died and his father suffered severe burn injuries after a country-made bomb exploded in their house while he was preparing it in Doddanallala village, Hoskote taluk, Bengaluru Rural, on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Pavan. He and father Nagesh, residents of Doddanallala, were making a country-made bomb to hunt wild boars. The bomb suddenly exploded, when they were tying a string around a bomb. Pavan on the spot.

Nagesh is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. The roof of the house was also damaged due to the intensity of the blast.

Fire department officials visited the spot and conducted an investigation.

Bengaluru Rural Additional SP Nagesh visited the spot and confirmed that it was a country-made bomb. Prima facie,  it seems like the bomb exploded while they were preparing to hunt a wild boar, but further investigation will be conducted after receiving the FSL report, police said.
