MANGALURU: A minor girl student from another community was stabbed with a knife by a fellow male student from the same college in Puttur taluk.
The accused, a Hindu student, allegedly attacked the girl student with a knife after she refused his proposal. The police have taken the accused student into custody. Both students are pursuing their first-year PU course. The injured girl student is being treated at a government hospital.
According to the girl, the accused had followed her while she was returning from a bookstall and expressed love for her. When she refused, he attacked her with a knife.
The girl student has also alleged that the teacher pressured her to change her name, and that she sustained injury on hand from a glass piece while recording the statement.
