BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is looking to counter the BJP-JD(S) padayatra over the alleged corruption in the MUDA site allotment and Valmiki Corporation cases by holding a massive convention at the Maharaja College Grounds in Mysuru on August 9, a day before the padayatra concludes.
The CM has instructed his ministers and party MLAs to ensure success of the convention at all costs and has assigned specific tasks to each of them. The ministers and MLAs have been directed to ensure that voters from their constituencies attend the convention and hopes to gather at least two lakh people.
Siddaramaiah has declared that he will expose the opposition at the convention and it is expected that he may reveal some documents. He had earlier raised 21 cases of alleged corruption in the Assembly during the previous BJP regime and is expected to sharpen his attack on the BJP and the JD(S).
