BENGALURU: Vijayalakshmi, the wife of jailed actor Darshan, who is the second accused in the murder of Chitradurga-based Renukaswamy, met Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar at his Sadashivanagar residence on Wednesday.
Vijayalakshmi, director Prem and brother Dinakar Thoogudeepa spoke with Shivakumar about Darshan’s case, who is currently in judicial custody. Shivakumar asked them that whether Darshan had been meted out injustice in the Renukaswamy murder case.
After meeting Vijayalakshmi, Deputy CM Shivakumar said, “Yesterday, I was at a programme in Ramanagara where she came to meet me, but it wasn’t possible to meet her then, so I gave her an appointment today. She came, and her child had some school-related issues. She requested me to resolve it and I told her to meet our school principal, that’s all. They didn’t bring up Darshan’s case”.
“The girl is facing injustice, so we need to support her. However, I cannot interfere in the police case since they are already under judicial custody. I respect the law and abide by the country’s and state’s laws. I will help resolve the issues her son is facing and provide any necessary assistance, but not in the police case”.
“If there’s any injustice done to Darshan, I will try to correct it. We must respect the law, and the laws of the land must be obeyed. Let’s work together to provide justice to those who have been wronged. May Goddess Chamundeshwari bless all and heal their pain”, Shivakumar said.
