MYSURU: Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer Rohini Sindhuri has been embroiled in a fresh controversy after she has been accused of carting away some articles from the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) here worth Rs 77,296 when she was deputy commissioner of the district.

The joint director of the ATI has written to the secretary of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) stating that Rohini Sindhuri had taken away 23 items including towels, blankets, beds, telephone table, coat hangers, microwave oven, yoga mat and stools from the institute to the official residence of the deputy commissioner.

Since they have not been returned, a sum of Rs 77,296 may be cut from Rohini Sindhuri’s salary and given to the ATI in the form of a demand draft, the official noted.

The ATI joint director pointed out that after she was posted as Mysuru DC, Rohini Sindhuri initially stayed at the institute and later shifted to the official residence. While shifting, she has taken away 23 articles from the institute, the letter said.
