Shola forest destroyed in Kemmanagundi fire

CHIKKAMAGALUR: A forest fire, which started near the popular tourist destination Z point in Kemmanagundi on Monday night, burnt down swathes of shola forest all through the night.

The fire started on a hill near Z point in the Bhadra tiger reserve and destroyed several rare species of plants along with animals. The Forest Department staff battled the forest fire through the night and put it out.
