BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is issuing notices to 3.5 lakh property owners who have not paid up their taxes. The notices are being sent on their registered mobile phones through SMS and WhatsApp.
The BBMP has asked property owners with tax dues to pay up by November 30. A QR code is also being sent with the mobile phone notices to enable payment of tax dues. Those who do not reply or pay up the taxes will face action, according to the civic body.
So far, the Palike officials have visited 15,000 houses to conduct checks. A physical notice will also be issued and action will be taken against the defaulting property owners, the BBMP said.
