Three dead after van rams into truck on Bengaluru-Mysuru highway, 6 injured

The passenger van hit a truck from behind.

RAMANAGARA: Three people died after a passenger van and a truck collided on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway on Thursday night. The deceased were identifed as Somalingappa (70), Somanna (68) and Rajeshwari (56) from Mysuru.

The Tempo Traveller was heading to Mysuru when it hit a truck from behind in front of the Chamundeshwari Hospital in Channapatna taluk. The occupants of the van were returning from Haveri after attending a wedding and were bringing the bride and groom with them.

Six people, including the bride and groom, were injured in the accident. They were shifted to a hospital in Bengaluru for treatment of their injuries. The Channapatna traffic police visited the spot and registered a case.
