BENGALURU: Three men have been arrested for luring unsuspecting victims into a honeytrap and then forcing them to undergo circumcision and change their religion, in the city. The woman involved in the case is, however, on the run.
The woman, a model from Mumbai, had created accounts on Telegram and Instagram with her display pictures while posing as Neha alias Meher. She would lure youngsters stating that she was living alone and that her husband was away in Dubai.
When someone fell into the trap, the woman would come to a house in Puttenahalli in the city where Yasin, Abdul Khader and Sharanprakash Patil were operating from.
Once the victim was inside the house, the other men would barge inside and threaten the youths after taking nude pictures with the woman. They would then relieve the victim of gold, cash, mobile phones and other valuables.
If the victim had no valuables on him, they would force him to undergo circumcision and convert to Islam while threatening them to get married to the woman and circulate the videos on social media.
One of the victims approached the Puttenahalli police following which a raid was conducted on the house. Deputy Commissioner of Police P Krishnakant said, “The woman got in touch with the complainant on Telegram app and invited him home in Vinayak Nagar. When he went inside, the other accused entered the house a few minutes later and threatened him that they had taken photos and that they would send them to his family members. They then forced him to transfer Rs 50,000 online. They are involved in other cases prior to this too”.
The accused are Yasin, Sharanprakash Patil, Abdul Khader and Neha. The police arrested the three men while Neha alias Meher is on the run.
